Passenger boarding

GOOD TO KNOW

Propair uses private terminals (FBOs) for some of these destinations

FBOs (Fixed Base Operators) are private terminals located on the airport site. These establishments, generally located just a few minutes from the main terminals, offer a quieter, more personalized environment than the main terminals. Propair favors the use of private terminals for its flights in major centers, to offer a faster, more efficient and more comfortable experience.

Boarding procedure

Counter opening - 60 minutes before flight time

Please note that our counters only open at this time. Before this time, no agent will be on hand to greet you or check you in.

Although we recommend that you arrive 60 minutes before departure, thanks to the efficiency of our private terminals (FBOs), you can arrive up to 30 minutes before your flight and still benefit from a fast, streamlined check-in process.

Please note that check-in closes 20 minutes before flight departure. Be sure to arrive on time to avoid delays or denied boarding.

At check-in, you will be asked to provide your name and valid photo identification. For security and identification purposes, your full name, as it appears on your travel document, must appear on your reservation. You may also be asked for your date of birth and gender at the time of booking.

The counter agent will also issue a boarding pass with your name on it, which you should keep with you all the way through the airport until you board your flight.

You will need to present one of the following forms of identification:

  • Valid (unexpired) photo identification issued by a government authority in Canada* showing your name and date of birth

*(Fishing, hunting and pleasure craft licenses are no longer accepted as identification for domestic flights.)

  • A valid passport

  • A valid NEXUS card

  • Valid U.S. Permanent Resident Card

  • Valid U.S. Enhanced Driver's License

Have your bags weighed (cabin and hold). For your hold baggage, the counter agent will affix an identification tag.

  • Rouyn-Noranda: your bag will be placed directly on the conveyor belt by the agent.

  • Sudbury: you'll have to take your bag yourself to the secure baggage drop-off area.

  • Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City and Gatineau: you'll need to leave your bag at the location indicated by the counter agent. The agent will direct you to the appropriate area.

15 minutes before departure, our counter agent will announce boarding, and we invite you to proceed to the boarding gate.

Our agent will check your boarding pass and valid photo ID.

Connections between Propair flights

Your itinerary may include a connection. In this case, the pilot will inform you during the transfer. Our team will take care of the baggage transfer, so all you have to do is carry your hand luggage and personal belongings to your next aircraft. All Propair connections are made in private terminals, so you don't have to travel far.

If your itinerary includes a connection, your boarding pass for both segments will be given to you on departure: all you have to do is present it at the next boarding.

Refuelling

Refuelling may be necessary during your stopover. For safety reasons, passengers must leave the aircraft during refuelling. The pilot will show you the procedure, which only takes a few minutes.

Why FBOs?

Propair favors the use of private terminals for its flights in major centers, to offer a faster, more efficient and comfortable experience.

Departure in 30 minutes

Although we recommend that you arrive 60 minutes before departure, FBO's fast turnaround means you can arrive just 30 minutes before your flight.

The comfort of private flights

Traveling via a fixed base operator gives passengers access to private passenger lounges before their flight.

Hassle-free travel

Using FBO allows passengers to avoid airport congestion, both for baggage handling and at check-out, offering a faster, more pleasant experience.
