REFUSAL TO TRANSPORT PASSENGERS OR GOODS

Propair may refuse to transport any person or cargo for a number of reasons, including, but not limited to, the following situations:

Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the following statements represent prohibited behavior where it may be necessary for the carrier, using its best judgment, to take action to ensure:

  • the comfort or physical safety of the individual, other passengers or the carrier's employees;

  • the safety of the aircraft;

  • the unhindered performance of crew duties on board the aircraft;

  • the safe and proper operation of the flight.

In particular, the carrier may refuse carriage in the following situations:

  • A person who, in the reasonable opinion of a responsible employee of the carrier, is impaired by alcohol or drugs (with the exception of a patient under medical treatment).
  • A person whose behavior or condition is, or has been, known to be abusive, offensive, threatening, intimidating, violent or otherwise disorderly and who, in the reasonable opinion of a responsible employee of the carrier, could disturb or seriously impair the physical comfort or safety of other passengers or employees of the carrier, interfere with the performance of the duties of a crew member or otherwise jeopardize the safe and proper operation of the flight.
  • The person whose behavior poses a risk or danger to himself or herself or other passengers (including a pregnant passenger and her unborn child), or to property.
  • Any person who fails to comply with the instructions of the carrier and its employees, or to cease any prohibited behavior.
  • Any person who smokes or attempts to smoke on the aircraft.
  • Any person who continues to use a cellular phone, laptop computer or other electronic device on board the aircraft after having been advised by a crew member to cease such use.
  • A person who is barefoot.
  • Any person who is improperly dressed.
  • Any person in possession of a prohibited article or weapon, whether concealed or not. However, the carrier may carry law enforcement officers or members of the armed forces who meet the qualifications and conditions prescribed by government regulations.
  • The person who has resisted or is likely to resist the escorting agents

In these cases, Propair is not responsible for the refusal to transport the passenger and no compensation will be granted.

Propair makes every effort to ensure that baggage is handled with care. However, it should be noted that liability for baggage damage, late delivery or loss is limited in accordance with Propair's General Conditions of Carriage, unless a higher value is declared in advance and additional payment is made.

A baggage claim can only be made on behalf of one passenger.

The carrier's liability is limited to the declared value of the baggage.

All baggage or goods presented for carriage may be inspected by the carrier. Baggage or goods presented for carriage will not be carried :

  • if they may present a danger to the aircraft, persons or property; or
  • if they are likely to be damaged by air transport; or
  • if they are not properly packed; or
  • if their carriage would contravene Canadian laws, regulations or ordinances.

    If baggage or goods, because of their weight, size or nature, cannot be carried on board the aircraft, Propair must, prior to flight departure, refuse to carry all or part of the baggage or goods.

Pets :

Only domestic dogs and cats are accepted on board our flights, subject to certain conditions. Only one pet is accepted per flight.

The pet must be transported in an appropriate cage or carrier and is included in the customer's carry-on baggage allowance. The cage must be placed under the seat in front of the passenger, and the pet must remain in the closed carrier under the seat at all times. The passenger assumes full responsibility for the animal.

  • The maximum dimensions of the cage are: 10" x 15" x 9" (length + width + height).
  • The weight of the animal and the cage must not exceed 13 lbs.

Only properly ventilated cages are accepted. The cage must be large enough to allow the animal to stand on its feet, turn around and lie down comfortably and safely. No part of the animal may protrude from the cage. Transport may be refused if the cage is deemed too small.

The pet must be at least 12 weeks old and fully weaned.

Passengers travelling with pets may not sit in rows near bulkheads or emergency exits. Specific seats will be assigned to you at check-in to ensure compliance with procedures and regulations in force.

In case of allergies, there must be a minimum of 5 rows between a passenger allergic to dogs and/or cats and a passenger traveling with the animal in the cabin. If they are seated 5 rows or less apart, the allergic passenger will be relocated to the opposite side of the aircraft exit, to avoid passing close to the animal.

All reservations for pets must be made with the reservations center at least 72 hours in advance. A fee per segment applies at the time of booking.

Service animals :

A certified guide dog or service animal is accepted on board any Propair aircraft, provided it is held in a harness. The passenger must also provide, at the time of booking, a certificate attesting that the animal has been trained by a professional animal training organization for the purpose of assisting a person in need of assistance.

The carrier accepts, free of charge, the service animal of a person requiring assistance. This person also benefits from the full baggage allowance.

The carrier will determine, in consultation with the person requiring assistance, the most appropriate location in the aircraft to ensure sufficient space for the person and his or her animal.
